Sickness
Please inform Little Farmer Childcare as soon as possible if your child will be unable to attend their session. Little Farmer Childcare will contact Parents/Carers as soon as possible if your child falls ill. Please do not send your child if he/she is unwell. A doctor should confirm that there is a no risk of infection and we require 48 clear hours is your child has had a temperature of 110 F/38 C, vomiting, diarrhoea, chickenpox, measles, mumps, meningitis, hepatitis, a virus, head lice, any unexplained rash or flu.
If your child shows symptoms of COVID-19 please follow the most relevant information at the time in accordance with Scotland NHS Inform. The Nursery will not routinely administer medicines but is happy to if prescribed by a doctor. Please see our permissions form in our Policies and Procedures documents for details.
Minor or Major Illness
If your child falls ill, has a rash, is inconsolable, has a temperature or some other type of illness at the nursery, every effort will be made to contact parents and carers. We will then consult with parents as to whether we feel the child should go home straight away, or if we are just letting parents know so that they can make an informed choice.
When the child is collected the symptoms and treatment given will be recorded in the Accident and Sickness book which the parents must sign.
Potty Training
Little Farmer Childcare will work together with parents/carers during potty training. If you have a method that is working at home, please let us know and we will try and continue it here.
Belongings
The nursery does not accept responsibility for accidental damage or loss of property. We do have a lost property basket for clothing and other miscellaneous items.
Safeguarding Children
It is understood that the nursery is under an obligation to report to the relevant authorities any incident where we consider a child may have been abused or neglected. This may be done without informing the parent/carer.
Any information given by a parent regarding their child will be treated with the utmost confidentiality, except in cases where abuse towards a child is suspected.
